Movie Review - Cricket Girls and BeerCricket Girls and Beer
The title of the film 'Cricket Girls and Beer' is interesting, modern, classy and cool. Let us see if the film does indeed turn out that way.
Story:
The story is pretty simple. It is about the lives of three youngsters. The three youngsters Vijay (Adarsh Balakrishna), Vikram (Naga Shourya) and Vivek (Surya Tej) are from the same family. In fact they are brothers. The other coincidence is that all three are studying in the same college – Maisamma Institute of Technology.
The three brothers have one peculiar weakness each – Vijay is mad about cricket and like any cricket lover in the country eats sleeps and dreams cricket. The second one Vikram has a fondness for beer.
The third brother Vivek loves girls. So that gives us a fair idea about the title of the film. Now the hero Vivek is madly in love with Swapna (Sarika Affan). Swapna is also studying in the same college as the three brothers.
However there is a catch. Swapna's marriage is fixed with Vicky (Raja Sridhar) who incidentally also studies in the same college.
This naturally leads to a bitter fight between Vivek and Vicky. This angers Vicky so much that he decided to get Vivek killed. For this, he hires the services of a goon. The rest of the story is how this incident brings about a change in the lives of Vijay, Vikram and Vicky.
Performance:
The three main actors Adarsh Balakrishna, Naga Shourya and Surya Tej are just okay. The heroine in the film Sarika Affan has very little to offer. Raja Sridhar is better of the lot. MS Narayana has not been utilized by the director properly. The others just come and go.
Analysis:
The film Cricket Girls and Beer has no proper storyline and screenplay. The film is slow paced and one does not understand what exactly the director wants to convey in the first place. The music is average. The production values are below the minimum standards. There is not one thing going in favour for the film.
Verdict:
Cricket Girls and Beer is a film full of clichés. The film is a pain in the neck and the audience gets bored just after the first ten minutes. The film is far below average and is just not worth watching.
