Mister Movie Review
Pedda Pichaiah Naidu (Nasser) is the head for 10 villages in Andhra-Karnataka borders. As per the custom, a competition would be held in stick fight once in 10 years during Sankranti festival. A person who wins in the fighting competition would become the head for 10 villages. Pichaiah Naidu has control over the 10 villages for the past 40 years. His only grandson (Varun Tej) stays in Spain. Pichaiah have a feeling as he is away from his grandson. A businessman Rahul Wodayar (Nikithin Dheer) knows about the red sandalwood trees and precious stones available in the forest surrounding the villages. At the same time, Pichaiah Naidu opponent Gundappa (Tanikella Bharani) wants to win over Pichaiah in stick fight during Sankranti. Pichaiah Naidu son Rao (Anand) settles in Spain. Rao’s son Chai (alias Pichaiah) goes to the airport in Spain to receive a girl Priya from India. By mistake, he receives Meera (Hebba). Chai falls in love with Meera. She says that she is in love with Siddhardha (Prince). Friendship grows between Chai and Meera in Spain during the four days. After completing her work, Meera returns to India. Later, she makes a call to Chai and reveals that she got some problems in her love. Chai comes to India to solve the problem. He meets Chandramukhi (Lavanya Tripathi). What was the problem faced by Meera? Whether Chai solves the problem? Whether he meets his grandfather? These details can be seen from the film.
Varun Tej is at his best as Chai. He’s at complete ease. Since he said this role is somewhat similar to his off-screen personality ( happy-go-lucky nature), looks like it was a cake walk for Varun. For the first time, he tried comedy and he did well. Considering that it’s not easy to make people laugh, Varun has passed the test and proved his mettle.
Hebah is impressive. It’s her first non-bubbly role that she has done on screen and she did great. She revs up the glam quotient. Scenes involving Varun and Hebah in the first half are good. Lavanya is okay. She’s natural. Srinivas Reddy, Tejaswi, and Raghu Babu’s comedy is hilarious. Spoofs are very good too.

Srinu Vaitla directed the film with his mark and narration. The story is long. There are many twists and turns. Viewers feel that it is real story incidents. The first half of the film is filled with comedy scenes. The second half of the film is a bit dragged. The climax is routine.
Srinu Vaitla has not taken any risk. The film has all masala elements. The parody between Srinivasa Reddy and Raghubabu is entertaining. There was a bit confusion in the second half. The film was dragged in the second half. Photography by Guhan is excellent. Music by Micky J Meyer is fair. Songs are OK.

Varun Tej’s Performance
The only relief is the beautiful visuals, courtesy cinematographer KV Guhan. The frames are spectacular, especially the scenes shot in Spain and in Chikmagalur.
