Ram's  Red, which  is the remake of super hit Tamil film Thadam is released on Sankranthi. Red failed to strike a chord with the audience and the prediction is that the film has dull and boring screenplay, which is a big no-no for a suspense thriller. The film had a field day at the box office on its opening day. The Sankranti release seems to have worked in Red’s favor. The Ram starrer collected Rs 5.42 crores share on day 1, which is one of the career-best opening day figures for Ram.

Here’s the breakdown of Red’s opening day collections:

  • Nizam: Rs 2.02 crores
  • Ceeded: Rs 1.08 crores
  • Uttharandhra: Rs 49 lakhs
  • East Godavari: Rs 36 lakhs
  • West Godavari: Rs 46 lakhs
  • Guntur: Rs 42 lakhs
  • Krishna: Rs 31.5 lakhs
  • Nellore: Rs Rs 27.5 lakhs

Total opening day collections: 5.42 crores.
