A major cheating case has been registered against popular actor Arya and several producers, creating a sensation in Tollywood and Kollywood circles. The matter involves crores of rupees in outstanding dues, with a complaint filed at the Jubilee Hills Police Station in Hyderabad. The case specifically targets popular Tamil actor Arya, along with Mini Studio and The Show People companies. The complaint, lodged by Taher Cine Technik company, alleges fraud regarding production equipment worth Rs. 2.12 crores taken for a film named ‘Ananthan Kadu’. It states that only Rs. 42 lakhs were paid, leaving over Rs. 1.80 crores as outstanding dues.
According to details provided by the police, during the production of ‘Ananthan Kadu’, actor Arya, film producer Vinod, and representatives of the production company repeatedly contacted Taher Cine Technik, located in Hylam Colony, Venkatagiri, Jubilee Hills. They requested the latest digital cameras, lighting units, and other production equipment, assuring that the full rent would be paid and there would be no outstanding dues. Consequently, an agreement was made on February 25 last year, and the equipment was dispatched from Hyderabad to Kerala.
However, the company’s accountant, Javed Ali, approached the Jubilee Hills police, stating that after the items were used until the film’s production was completed, Rs. 2.12 crores were not paid as per the agreement, with over Rs. 1.80 crores remaining as pending dues. The complaint further alleges that the accused promised to obtain a ‘No Dues Certificate’ before the film’s release but failed to uphold this. Despite sending multiple letters, WhatsApp messages, and making phone calls to remind them about the dues, there was no response. The complainant also lamented that the accused later approached a Kerala court, concealed facts, and obtained interim orders.
