The long-awaited Tamil action drama, Raayan, of Dhanush has now arrived on Amazon Prime Video today, 23rd August. This is another landmark as it is the 50th movie of Dhanush where he has directed the movie with the production of Kalanithi Maran under Sun pictures.

The film has a line-up ofSJ Suryah, Selva Raghavana, Saravanan, Sundeep Kishan, Kalidas Jayaram, Dushara Vijayan, Prakash Raj and Aparna Balamurali among others. Raayan based the novel on the life of the four children who ran away from their village and later live in the city. As they grow up, Raayan (played by Dhanush) assumes the role of a protective elder brother to his siblings: Murali (Kalidas Jayaram), the honourable college student and Muthu (Sundeep Kishan) the hot-headed brother. There is a strict focus on a family unit and their sister Durga (Dushara Vijayan).

Raayan’s desire to marry Durga becomes a power struggle with gangsters Sethu and Durai taking centre stage along with a cunning new police officer – Prakash Raj. In this case, more and more conflicts are depicted in the story as Raayan battles to protect his family.

Subsequent to receiving a theatrical release on 26th July, the film has already grossed over Rs 152 crore at the international box office and Rs 94. it grossed 68 crore nett in India and emerged a clear hit.
