She asked that the minister in question issue an apology to her family and retract the remarks, stating, “Rahul Gandhi, if you value respect and dignity, please control your leaders. This minister owes an apology to my family, and action must be taken to withdraw her offensive comments. The people of this country deserve protection from such behavior.”
The controversy began when Konda Surekha, in a media interaction, made allegations against K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), working president of the BRS party, suggesting that his influence had caused several actresses to leave the film industry early. She further claimed that KTR was responsible for certain incidents within the Akkineni family, igniting a wave of criticism and backlash. These claims drew strong reactions from Amala, who firmly defended her family and called for accountability.
