BRS Party Divided into Two Factions: Are MLAs Facing Continuous Setbacks?
Is the BRS party continuously taking hits? Are internal rifts persisting within the party regarding the Arikapudi Gandhi-Koushik Reddy incident? The Greater Hyderabad MLAs are staying away from the Arikapudi Gandhi-Koushik Reddy issue. Only Harish Rao and KTR have responded to this matter. They attempted to divert it as a matter of law and order, but it has already reached the grassroots level. Consequently, MLAs in the Greater area are remaining unresponsive.
In the Greater Hyderabad region, the BRS secured victories in 16 out of 24 constituencies. However, in the recent by-elections, the Secunderabad Cantonment seat was lost. Party leaders anticipate that MLAs from Khairatabad, Rajendranagar, and Sherilingampally may switch parties, reducing BRS’s count from 15 to 12 seats.
Regional statements are feared to be impacting the MLAs’ vote banks. Following the Koushik Reddy incident, the MLAs decided to visit him together but ended up going separately. They did not present a united front or attempt to address the media collectively.
In every constituency within the Greater area, Andhra voters hold significant sway, capable of determining victories or defeats. In yesterday’s assembly elections, the BRS was saved by its loyal voters. Now, internal party information suggests that nearly ten MLAs have decided that distancing themselves is better than compromising their positions.
There are reports that some MLAs may defect to the ruling party in the coming days. A party spokesperson revealed that KTR has tasked KCR with handling this issue. Meanwhile, BRS is reportedly holding special discussions with youth leaders. It remains to be seen how many more twists this situation will take within the party.
