Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Pawan Kalyan, has once again demonstrated his generosity by contributing significantly to flood relief efforts. Both Telugu states, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, have been severely impacted by recent heavy rains, with many areas submerged, especially in Vijayawada, where floodwaters have yet to recede, adding to the difficulties faced by the people.
Yesterday evening, Pawan Kalyan announced a personal donation of Rs. 1 crore to the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. This morning, he further committed an additional Rs. 1 crore to the Telangana Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
In response to the news that nearly 400 villages in Andhra Pradesh were affected by the floods, Pawan Kalyan pledged to donate Rs. 1 lakh to each of these villages. After his initial Rs. 1 crore donation, he stated that he would personally ensure that financial assistance reaches all 400 villages.
In total, Pawan Kalyan has contributed Rs. 6 crores to support flood relief efforts.
However, Pawan Kalyan faced criticism from the opposition party, YSRCP, for not visiting the flood-affected areas as the Deputy Chief Minister. In response, he explained that officials had advised him to avoid participating in rescue operations to prevent disruptions to the ongoing efforts.
