“Paapam Raashi”: A Hilarious Role Twist

Raashi, a beloved star heroine known for her captivating performances and predominantly traditional aesthetic, has recently made sensational comments that are now hot topics of discussion. After a hiatus, she is making a busy comeback, featuring in both serials and films, and has shared interesting insights from her career, including shocking remarks about the film ‘Nijam’ and a funny incident related to her role in the movie ‘Paapam Pratap’.

She recently starred in the film ‘Paapam Pratap’, directed by Thiruveer as the hero, with Payal Radhakrishna as the heroine, and featuring Ajay Ghosh, Devi Prasad, and Roopalakshmi in pivotal roles. The movie, released on Friday, received a mixed response from critics. At a thanks meet for the film, Raashi shared an amusing experience about her combination with Ajay Ghosh. Raashi revealed that when the director informed her she would be playing Ajay’s wife in ‘Paapam Pratap’, she initially assumed Ajay would be a much older person. Consequently, she arrived on set styled like a heroine with a long braid. However, upon her arrival, she was told, “Madam, you look like a heroine, but you need to appear like the hero’s mother.” After changing her hairstyle to suit the role, she returned to the set and looked around for Ajay but couldn’t find him. Ajay Ghosh was sitting nearby, and an assistant noticed her searching, asking who she was looking for. Raashi explained she couldn’t find Ajay, only to be shocked when the assistant pointed out that the person sitting there was Ajay himself. She initially thought he might be playing an uncle’s role, but when told she was his wife, Raashi, laughing, expressed her surprise, noting that her situation at that moment had turned into “Paapam Raashi” (Poor Raashi). She went on to shower praises on Ajay Ghosh, calling him a wonderful actor and a single-take artist.

On the same occasion, Raashi reacted to the criticism surrounding her negative role in the 2003 film ‘Nijam’. When a journalist asked about the surprise over her negative portrayal, she responded, “If I like the story and the character, I do the film. Similarly, I did the role in ‘Nijam’ because I liked it. Whether a role is positive or negative, for an artist, it’s all the same. We approach it with that mindset. I did ‘Nijam’ with the same perspective, but I didn’t anticipate it would generate so much negativity. I apologize for that. From now on, I will take on both positive and negative roles, but only those that audiences will accept,” Raashi stated. These comments are now widely circulating.

Raashi Addresses ‘Nijam’ Role Controversy

‘Nijam,’ directed and produced by Teja, starred Mahesh Babu as the hero, Rakshita as the heroine, and Gopichand as the villain, with Raashi also featuring prominently in a negative role. While the film did not perform well at the box office, it garnered critical acclaim. However, Raashi, who had exclusively played positive heroine roles until then, faced considerable criticism for her villainous portrayal in this film, which became a significant setback for her career.

Raashi’s candid comments are widely circulating on social media. Let’s hope she continues to entertain audiences with more compelling roles in the future.

Looking Ahead

Raashi’s candid comments are widely circulating, reaffirming her genuine audience connect. Despite the ‘Nijam’ backlash, her ‘Paapam Pratap’ twist highlighted resilience and charm. Let’s hope she continues to entertain us with more compelling roles, cementing her place as an enduring talent our industry will undoubtedly cheer for.
