The documentary “UNITY – The Man of Social Justice,” directed by Vijay Kumar Badugu and based on the inspiring life story of Konda Laxman Bapuji, has clinched the prestigious Gaddar Award, marking a significant triumph. Produced by Chirandasu Srikanth and Dhanunjay under the Mega Maze Entertainment banner, the film was honored as the First Best Documentary Film at the ‘Gaddar Film Awards – 2025’, organized by the Telangana government. For this powerful documentary, which masterfully blends social responsibility and historical context, writer and director Vijay Kumar Badugu received the ‘Best Documentary’ award. The recognition was presented at a grand ceremony held at Shilpakala Vedika in Hyderabad.
Ministers lauded the selection of such a meaningful film for these awards, given in the name of people’s poet Gaddar, calling it commendable. They specifically praised Vijay Kumar for commendably preserving the history of great personalities born on Telangana soil in cinematic form.
