Tollywood director Teja’s son, Amitov Teja, has become a hot topic after a sensational criminal case was registered against him on charges of kidnapping and threats, stirring the industry. The matter reportedly stems from a share market dispute.
According to police details, K. Praneeth, a resident of Moti Nagar who works in a bank’s credit card supervision department, was introduced to Amitov Teja in 2025 regarding a credit card application. Subsequently, Amitov Teja, Praneeth, and Praneeth’s wife together opened a share market account and began trading. Praneeth conducted trading on behalf of Amitov Teja, which resulted in a loss of approximately Rs. 11 lakhs. Amitov Teja reportedly pressured Praneeth to invest more money to cover this loss. When Praneeth refused, the situation escalated. Based on Praneeth’s complaint, it is alleged that some of Amitov Teja’s associates illegally detained Praneeth, forcibly obtaining his signatures on blank papers and cheques. Furthermore, they also allegedly took his wife’s signatures on property documents.
Praneeth had previously lodged a complaint with the police regarding this issue, but receiving no response, he reportedly approached the Nampally Court. After examining the matter, the court ordered the registration of a case against Amitov Teja. Acting on these orders, Jubilee Hills police filed a criminal case against him under various sections, including charges related to kidnapping and threats.

In a related development, Amitov Teja has also filed a counter-complaint. He alleges that Praneeth and his wife defrauded him of Rs. 72 lakhs under the guise of investment. Accordingly, Jubilee Hills police registered another case against Praneeth and his wife twenty days ago.
