Unfortunately, it seems that many stars, particularly from Bollywood, have been slow to respond when it matters most. For instance, the recent floods that wreaked havoc in the Telugu states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana caused significant property damage and loss of life. Cities like Vijayawada and Khammam were especially hard hit.

Amid this devastation, several Tollywood actors, including Prabhas, Pawan Kalyan, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan, Jr. NTR, and Chiranjeevi, stepped up by announcing substantial donations to assist the government in flood relief efforts. Their actions were widely appreciated by their fans, and it underscored the strong connection between these stars and the Telugu-speaking community.

However, this wasn’t the case for several other prominent stars who also enjoy immense popularity in these regions. Bollywood icons like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Salman Khan, who have previously promoted their films in Telugu states and expressed their love for the audience, have remained silent during this natural disaster. This has disappointed many fans who expected these celebrities to extend a helping hand during such a critical time.

Similarly, other South Indian superstars such as Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Mohanlal, Mammootty, and Vijay, who have massive fan bases in the Telugu-speaking regions, have also not made any public contributions or efforts to aid the affected people. This lack of response has led to growing frustration among fans, especially since these stars frequently express their admiration for the Telugu audience during their movie promotions.

In contrast, actor Sonu Sood, who has become widely recognized for his philanthropic efforts during the pandemic and other crises, once again proved his dedication by announcing a donation of ₹1 crore each to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. In addition, he pledged to provide further support through the Sonu Sood Trust, setting an example for others to follow.

Fans are now questioning why many of the stars who make significant amounts of money from the Telugu box office and frequently promote their films in the region have not shown the same level of commitment during this crisis. While Tollywood stars have led the charge in contributing to relief efforts, there is growing disappointment towards those who have remained silent, leaving fans to wonder if these celebrities only care about the region when it benefits their careers.
