Tollywood Icon K. Chiranjeevi Sets Guinness World Record as Most Prolific Film Star
Tollywood superstar K. Chiranjeevi has been officially recognized by the Guinness World Records as the most prolific film star in the Indian film industry.
Dubbed the “Megastar” within film circles, Chiranjeevi received his Guinness certificate from an official representative during a grand event held on Sunday. Bollywood sensation Aamir Khan was also in attendance to honor the occasion.
The certificate states: “Most prolific film star in Indian Film Industry/dancer is Konidela Chiranjeevi aka Megastar (India) achieved on 20 September 2024.” Chiranjeevi’s impressive career includes performing 24,000 dance moves across 537 songs in 156 films over 45 years.
Reflecting on his journey, Chiranjeevi shared that his passion for dancing began even before his acting debut. He reminisced about dancing to Telugu songs on Radio Ceylon, expressing surprise at receiving the Guinness accolade. “Dance has been an integral part of my life throughout my film career,” he remarked, extending his gratitude to directors, producers, and fans for their support.
Chiranjeevi highlighted the pivotal role songs have played in his movies, often being a key factor in their success. He also expressed heartfelt thanks to Aamir Khan for attending the event, noting that Khan’s presence made the moment unforgettable.
Aamir Khan, a long-time admirer of Chiranjeevi, shared his admiration, saying, “I consider him my elder brother. When Chiranjeevi Garu invited me to this event, I was honored. Seeing him perform with such passion is inspiring, and his energy is truly infectious.”
The recognition has also been celebrated by political leaders. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to congratulate Chiranjeevi, stating, “He has made an unparalleled contribution to Telugu cinema with his grace and artistry. This recognition not only adds another feather to his cap but also elevates the pride of Telugu people worldwide.”
Similarly, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy extended his congratulations, lauding Chiranjeevi’s achievement as a source of pride for the Telugu community.
Chiranjeevi’s latest accolade underscores his enduring legacy and significant impact on the Indian film industry, cementing his status as a legendary figure in Tollywood.
