TG Vishwa Prasad’s production house, People Media Factory, has been pursuing an ambitious goal of producing over 100 films in a short time frame. However, this strategy has led to some significant setbacks, including harsh criticism for some of their releases. One of the biggest disappointments in recent Telugu cinema is the film Mr Bachchan, featuring Ravi Teja and directed by Harish Shankar, which was produced by People Media Factory.
In response to the film’s failure, TG Vishwa Prasad made some strong remarks about Harish Shankar’s role in the debacle. He stated, “Mr Bachchan is not a bad film. The first half is passable with some good songs. However, the second half completely lost its way. Harish Shankar’s interviews and press meets did more harm than good. As the film lacked substantial content, we decided not to continue promoting it. Harish Shankar’s excessive commentary on the film was unnecessary and detrimental.”
Harish Shankar also faced heavy criticism after the film’s release, particularly following an interview with a gossip website, which only compounded the negative reception. TG Vishwa Prasad directly attributed the failure of Mr Bachchan to Harish Shankar’s actions.
This is not the first setback for Vishwa Prasad, as his last film, Manamey, also flopped, leading to significant financial losses. Despite these challenges, Vishwa Prasad has a strong lineup of films set to be released over the next few years. His comments on Mr Bachchan and Harish Shankar have sparked considerable discussion within the Tollywood industry
