The Telangana High Court expressed its displeasure towards the Telugu Film Journalists Association and the Women’s Commission regarding the complaint filed against astrologer Venu Swamy. The issue arose after the association lodged a complaint with the Women’s Commission against Venu Swamy for his predictions about the alleged divorce of actors Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala. In response, the Women’s Commission issued notices to Venu Swamy, asking for an explanation.
Challenging these notices, Venu Swamy filed a petition in the High Court. On August 28, the High Court ruled that the notices issued by the Women’s Commission were invalid. The court criticized the Telugu Film Journalists Association and the Women’s Commission, questioning why they were concerned about an issue that doesn’t directly involve them.
In a related matter, singer Chinmayi Sripaada has commented on the power dynamics, political influence, and financial strength in the film industry concerning sexual harassment. The controversy surrounding Venu Swamy began on the day Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita got engaged when he predicted that the couple would separate within three years. He further claimed that their breakup in 2027 would be due to the involvement of another woman. This prediction, along with his analysis of their horoscopes, went viral online.
Following this, the Telugu Film Journalists Association lodged a complaint with the Women’s Commission, which then issued notices to Venu Swamy. These notices were later challenged by Venu Swamy in the High Court.
