A friend from my hostel knew people in the film industry and took me to the shooting of Rajasekhar’s film ‘Mahankali’. I thought I’d just get a photo with the hero and leave, so I got dressed up nicely and went. On that day, one girl didn’t turn up for the shoot. Seeing me, they asked if I would act in her place, and since that’s why I came, I said yes.” She worked on the film for almost 12 days, appearing here and there throughout the movie in the character of a journalist. “They paid Rs. 3000 daily, and that was back in 2010. At that time, I didn’t know anything about camera facing or makeup. I thought, ‘I’m getting daily money and food, this is good,’ and I did it. With that money, I bought a silk saree for my mother,” Sravanthi added.
