Bollywood’s ever-outspoken director, Anurag Kashyap, has once again ignited a fiery debate, this time around ‘The Kerala Story 2′. Known for his sharp criticisms, Kashyap has not only slammed the film as propaganda, echoing previous remarks on its trailer, but has also surprisingly weighed in with praises for ‘beef parotta’. His recent comments are sparking heated discussions across South Indian film circles.

Kashyap Slams Film, Praises Beef

Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap has once again stirred controversy with sensational remarks regarding ‘The Kerala Story 2’ movie. Having previously criticized the film’s trailer, his recent comments on beef parotta are now widely discussed.

Speaking to the media recently during the Filmfare South Awards ceremony in Kerala, Kashyap openly declared his fondness for beef parotta, praising it as “amazing.” When asked if he liked beef (cow meat), he unequivocally said yes, dismissing the notion that eating beef is problematic. “It’s absolutely not a problem. I have no problem with it,” he stated clearly, referencing a scene in the film’s trailer where beef is forcibly fed.

Kashyap then fiercely criticized ‘The Kerala Story 2’, labeling its trailer “bullshit” and “terrible.” He firmly believes the film is a “definite propaganda film” designed to “divide people and spread hatred among them,” accusing its producer of greed. He scoffed at the depiction of forcibly feeding beef in the movie, stating, “Nobody shoves beef down someone’s throat like that, as shown in the movie; nobody would even feed kichidi like that forcibly.”

Director Defends Film’s ‘Real Incidents’

In response, ‘The Kerala Story 2’ director Narayan Singh fumed at Kashyap’s comments, clarifying that the film is “entirely based on real incidents.” Singh challenged Kashyap, stating, “Every scene in our film is based on real incidents. We know this. If Mr. Anurag Kashyap wishes, we will send him all the research documents related to this film to his home.” He further criticized Kashyap, saying, “His only job is to find fault in everything. His eyes are closed to reality. He doesn’t want to see or understand that truth at all.”

These comments by Anurag Kashyap have undeniably become a hot topic on social media, adding to the ongoing debate surrounding the controversial film. Amidst these discussions, it is also notable that the High Court has reportedly ordered a screening of the film before its release.

Looking Ahead

With Kashyap’s sharp criticism and the High Court’s pre-release screening, ‘The Kerala Story 2’ transcends mere cinema. This judicial oversight sets a profound precedent for our region, ensuring an intense debate. Expect it to reshape discussions on truth, propaganda, and authentic narratives across the Southern states.
