Dandora Dominates Gaddar Awards

Sensational news from Tollywood: The film ‘Dandora’ has demonstrated its mettle, sweeping three prestigious categories at the Telangana Government‘s ‘Gaddar Awards 2025’. The film was honored with awards for Best Second Film, Best Supporting Actor (Sivaji), and Best Music Director (Mark K Robin).

A major talking point from the event was actor Sivaji’s assertion that a single tweet by NTR propelled the movie to such heights, making it accessible to all Telugu audiences. During the press meet organized to celebrate this recognition, the film team collectively expressed their gratitude to the Telangana government and the jury. Sivaji, who received the Best Supporting Actor award, elaborated on the film’s journey and future aspirations.

“My heartfelt thanks to the jury and the Telangana government for recognizing ‘Dandora’ and presenting these awards,” Sivaji began. “Just as water offered in a conch shell attains sanctity, NTR’s tweet gave this film a special resonance, bringing it closer to all Telugu people. I am confident this movie will not stop here and is poised to win many more awards in the future, a sentiment shared by our jubilant film unit. I am delighted that Mark K Robin received an award, and my thanks to Benny for giving me this opportunity in the film. Every single person who worked on this movie has contributed to these awards. This film truly showcases the talent and prowess of the Telugu people. It feels like Mr. Murali crafted the story and the film ‘Dandora’ just for us. To prepare for this role and its specific look, I often limited my sleep to just two or three hours a night. Acting is akin to divinity. God has bestowed upon me that gift, and with it, I believe I can thrive anywhere in the world. Had it not been for the character of the young girl Radhya, I might not have taken on this film. Navdeep, Nandu, Bindu Madhavi – all are the finest actors. My sincere thanks to them all.”

Director Muraleekanth added, “My thanks to the jury and the government for bestowing such recognition upon our film ‘Dandora’. Thanks to every member of my team who supported me throughout this journey. Even as a new director, my entire team believed in me. Even highly experienced actors supported me greatly. Mark K Robin is truly the lifeblood of our film. He and I spent many sleepless nights working on this movie. It is during moments of such awards and recognition that the true talent within our team becomes widely known. This film ascended to its current stature largely due to Sivaji’s performance. Numerous IAS and IPS officers personally telephoned me to offer their congratulations after viewing the film. Such accolades and recognition serve as a great encouragement to produce even finer, more socially relevant films.”

NTR’s Tweet and Team’s Triumph

Mr. Ravindra Benarjee, the producer, stated, “Our sincere thanks go out to the jury members and the Telangana government for recognizing ‘Dandora’ and bestowing these awards upon us. We also extend our gratitude to everyone who supported us throughout our ‘Dandora’ journey, especially Mr. Sahu and Mr. Nagavamsi, who stood by us.”

Music director Mark K Robin remarked, “I have listened to Gaddar anna’s (brother’s) songs since my childhood. To receive the Best Music Director award at the Gaddar Awards today is an immense honor for me. ‘Dandora’ possesses a magnificent story, and I am grateful to Murali for bringing such a narrative to me.”

Actor Nandu offered his congratulations, saying, “My congratulations to everyone who has won a Gaddar Award. A film’s success is truly a collective effort. While the ‘Best Film’ category encompasses the director and producer, I sincerely hope that a dedicated ‘Best Producer’ category will be introduced in the future.”
