Raghav Chadha Removed as AAP Deputy Leader
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) moved to replace MP Raghav Chadha as the party’s deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha. Shortly after, Raghav posted his response in a video on his social media platform. Many social media users came out in support of Raghav for raising important topics in the Parliament, and actor Disha Patani’s sister Khushboo Patani , was one of them. Khushboo commented that she hopes Raghav will move forward and form his own party.
In the comments section of the post, Khushboo wrote, “Raghav ji, aap ek padhae likhae, suljahe neta hain. Hamare desh ko aap jaise neta ki bahut zarurat hain. Mujhe yakeen hain aane wale waqt mein aap apni ek party banaye. Hum sab aapke sath judna chahengae kyunki aap desh ke sath chalna chahate hain. Jai hind (You are a well educated and noble leader. Our country needs a leader like you. I have full faith that in the near future you will make your own party. We all would want to join you because you want to work with the country).”
Khushboo Patani’s Strong Endorsement
When Arvind Kejriwal was arrested in connection with the excise policy case in March 2024, Chadha was abroad for medical reasons. He remained away from active politics during Kejriwal’s nearly six-month incarceration, during which other party leaders, including Manish Sisodia and Sanjay Singh were also in jail.
Chadha’s Initiatives in Parliament
Raghav campaigned against high airport food prices, leading to the introduction of ₹ 20 samosas and ₹ 10 tea at several Indian airports through the ‘Udaan Yatri Cafes’. Party leaders described the decision as part of internal restructuring. But the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) claimed the move was result of Chadha’s “distancing himself” from party’s national convener and former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal.
Following his removal, support for Raghav Chadha highlights a potential shift in political alliances. Khushboo Patani’s public endorsement underscores the growing sentiment for fresh leadership and alternative political platforms in India.
