Malavika Mohanan, starring in the highly anticipated Prabhas-starrer ‘The RajaSaab’, has directly addressed swirling rumors about her action sequences. Putting all speculation to rest, the talented actress emphatically stated that she personally performed every fight scene, debunking claims of a stunt double. Her commitment truly shines through this impressive feat.

Malavika: “I Did My Own Stunts!”

Actress Malavika Mohanan has personally addressed and debunked circulating rumors about the stunt sequences in her recent Prabhas-starrer, ‘The RajaSaab’, directed by Maruthi. She unequivocally stated that no body double was used for her character, confirming that she performed all the action scenes herself.

‘The RajaSaab’, a horror-comedy, marked a new genre for Rebel Star Prabhas and introduced Malavika Mohanan to Telugu audiences. The film, which also featured Niddhi Agerwal and Riddhi Kumar as heroines, received mixed reviews upon its release. While Prabhas was seen in a stylish vintage look, reports suggested that director Maruthi struggled with the effective on-screen presentation of certain scenes. Adding to the film’s post-release discussions, within a month of its theatrical run, ‘The RajaSaab’ began streaming on Jio Hotstar.

It was during this OTT release that audiences began criticizing the apparent use of a body double for Malavika Mohanan in a villain fight sequence. The speculation intensified when Ranson Vincent, who played the villain in that scene, shared a photo with a stunt artist in Malavika’s costume, seemingly confirming the use of a double. Many observers questioned the decision to use a male body double for a female actress, prompting Malavika’s recent response.

Video Proof Silences Body Double Critics

Taking to the X platform, Malavika clarified her involvement, stating, “I did my own stunts. It’s common to have professional stunt doubles for risky shots or rehearsals in films. But in the action sequence you saw in the film, I personally participated. It’s rare for girls to get the opportunity to do action scenes, so I worked very hard to perform the stunts I loved.” She further reinforced her claim by providing video evidence and sharing behind-the-scenes footage showcasing her performing challenging fights with the aid of ropes on set. This comprehensive response, which included sharing actual footage of her in action, effectively silenced the trolls and put to rest all criticisms regarding the use of a body double.

Having established herself in Malayalam cinema, Malavika Mohanan made her much-anticipated Telugu debut with ‘The RajaSaab’. Despite her high hopes, the film did not achieve significant success. She is currently occupied with Tamil and Malayalam projects, while also engaging with her audience through social media platforms like Instagram, where she often shares glimpses of her glamorous side.

Looking Ahead

Malavika’s fierce dedication, evident in performing her own stunts, is undeniable. While ‘The RajaSaab’ missed its mark, her resilience and ongoing projects in Tamil and Malayalam, alongside her glamorous social media presence, suggest a formidable future. South Indian cinema will undoubtedly see more of her impactful presence.
