Raashi’s Dream: Starring Alongside Pawan Kalyan
Raashi Khanna’s long-held dream of starring alongside Power Star Pawan Kalyan has been realized with ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’, a film coming from the collaboration of Pawan Kalyan and ‘Cult Captain’ Harish Shankar. Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar Yalamanchili under the Mythri Movie Makers banner, the film features Raashi Khanna and Sreeleela as the heroines. Devi Sri Prasad composed the music, while S. Thaman provided the background score.
‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’ is set for a grand theatrical release on March 19th as a Ugadi treat, and the makers are currently in full swing with its promotions. As a lead actress in the film, Raashi Khanna recently shared details about her experience with the media. “My life is currently very busy,” Raashi Khanna stated. “To be honest, as soon as I heard it was a Power Star film, I enthusiastically said yes without even hearing the script. Ever since I did my first film, I’ve heard about Pawan Kalyan’s stardom and ‘Pawanism.’ I wanted to do at least one film with him even back then. With ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh,’ my dream has come true. In this film, I play a character named Shloka, who is a very modern girl. Every character in this film has significant importance. I also have a mass song in it, and since I love to dance, I thoroughly enjoyed shooting it.”
Speaking about Pawan Kalyan, Raashi described him as a very simple person, always seen reading books, with an unknown innocence about him. She recalled, “On the very first day, he asked me if I had always wanted to be an actress. I replied, ‘No sir, I wanted to be an IAS officer.’ He speaks very little, but every word carries great value. He told me to engage in public service. He always thinks about the people. I learned humanity from him. While watching his fans from the stage during the ‘Ustaad’ event, it felt like they were worshipping him like a god.” She also noted that in ‘Ustaad Bhagat Singh’, she and Sreeleela do not have combination scenes, and her character has good variations.

Raashi Khanna also lauded director Harish Shankar. “Harish Shankar is very smart. He has a great understanding of the mass pulse. He completed the film’s shoot, which would typically take 120 days, in just 40 to 45 days. He worked incredibly hard for the film, often without proper sleep. During shooting, he would write punch dialogues right on the set. His patience is immense. I learned a lot from his dedication to the film. He had told me in advance that he couldn’t predict the film’s schedules, and I assured him I would adjust accordingly. Sometimes, I worked 24-hour shifts, day and night, without a break.”
Raashi Khanna concluded by expressing her hope that the film, releasing during the Ugadi festival, will appeal to everyone, promising fans will see “vintage Pawan Kalyan” in this movie.
