Tollywood is absolutely buzzing with exciting developments across the board! “Devagudi” continues its triumphant run, captivating audiences with its gripping storyline. In a unique move, Netflix has acquired “Haiku” pre-release, adding significant digital buzz. Meanwhile, fresh updates on “Hreem” and “Amaravathi” are also creating waves, promising a dynamic period for Telugu cinema enthusiasts.

Devagudi Delights: Grand Success Celebrated

Tollywood is currently abuzz with exciting developments, as several intriguing film updates emerge daily. Among the highlights are the continued success of ‘Devagudi,’ the unique pre-release digital acquisition for ‘Haiku,’ updates on ‘Hreem,’ and the release of the ‘Amaravathi Ki Ahwanam’ teaser. ‘Devagudi,’ directed and produced by Bellam Ramakrishna Reddy under the Pushyami Film Makers banner, has enjoyed a grand release and is receiving an excellent response from audiences. Starring Abhinava Shourya, Narasimha, Anushree, and Raghu Kunche in lead roles, the film celebrated its success with a special meet. Director-producer Ramakrishna Reddy expressed his gratitude to the audience, stating, “We are grateful to the audience for making our ‘Devagudi’ movie a grand success. Our film is captivating audiences from all walks of life. We are receiving praise for its gripping screenplay, which avoids any lag, keeping viewers engaged. The rich production values of the film are a particular talking point, and we’re getting appreciation for the well-executed action sequences and song picturization. Raghu Kunche’s portrayal of Veera Reddy has become a significant highlight. It’s incredibly rewarding to see some audience members leaving the cinema emotionally moved. We are very happy.”

Adding to the industry’s excitement, Netflix has made a remarkable move by acquiring the digital rights for ‘Haiku’ even before its shooting was completed. This is an unusual and significant development, as OTT platforms typically pursue digital rights only after a film’s theatrical run. The film, which stars Sridevi (known for her role in ‘Court’), officially commenced shooting on February 1st. Traditional puja ceremonies marked the start of filming in the Idukki region of Kerala, with critically acclaimed director Ram (of ‘Peranbu’ and ‘Taramani’ fame) clapping for the inaugural shot and extending his congratulations to the film unit.

Future Films: Digital Buzz, Teasers, and Updates

Meanwhile, updates on the film ‘Hreem’ are also creating a stir. Starring Pawan Thatha and Chaminda Varma, the movie is produced by Shiva Mallala, presented by Sujatha Mallala under the Shivam Media banner, and directed by Rajesh Ravuri. Recently, the film’s hero, Pawan Thatha, celebrated his birthday at the film office, attended by actor Sreenandu. Sreenandu praised the project, commenting, “I have just seen the posters and glimpses of ‘Hreem,’ and it struck me as incredibly exciting content. My heartfelt congratulations to hero Pawan Thatha and heroine Dr. Chaminda Varma, who are building their careers impressively with this film. This is a wonderful opportunity for Rajesh, who is transitioning from Maa TV to directing. I wish everyone involved all the best.” Pawan Thatha himself added, “This birthday is immensely special to me. ‘Hreem’ has given me a wonderful opportunity, and I am grateful to everyone who trusted me and provided this chance. It makes me very happy that my family members – my aunt Renukamma, Gopi, and Rekha – were all part of this celebration. I hope that once you all see the content, you will also appreciate my efforts.”

Another significant event was the recent release of the teaser for ‘Amaravathi Ki Ahwanam‘ by prominent producer and actor Murali Mohan. The film, directed by GVK, features Shiva Kantamaneni, Dhanya Balakrishna, Esther, Supritha, and Harish in pivotal roles. It is produced by K.S. Shankar Rao and R. Venkateswara Rao under the Lighthouse Cine Magic banner, presented by G. Rambabu Yadav, and has renowned producer Muppa Venkaiah Chowdary overseeing the production. Speaking at the launch, Murali Mohan remarked, “The teaser for ‘Amaravathi Ki Ahwanam’ is truly impressive. Judging by the content of this film, I am confident it will be a success. As our guru Dasari garu always emphasized, small films are the lifeblood of the industry. Despite being a new director, GVK has skillfully crafted the film, showcasing immense talent. The teaser itself manages to evoke a sense of fear. I extend my best wishes for ‘Amaravathi Ki Ahwanam’ to achieve great success.” This film is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on February 13th.

Looking Ahead

Tollywood thrives, from ‘Devagudi’s’ success to Netflix’s global reach. As Murali Mohan underscored with ‘Amaravathi Ki Ahwanam’, nurturing new talent and small films is our industry’s lifeblood. This dynamic blend promises Telugu cinema a vibrant future, captivating hearts home and abroad.
