Vijay Alleges Conspiracy Amidst Election Entry; Film Release in Jeopardy
  • Vijay alleges a conspiracy hindering his film ‘Jana Nayagan’ and the Karur stampede investigation.
  • He claims to have sacrificed a luxurious life to serve the people of Tamil Nadu.
  • Vijay criticizes the DMK government, urging voters to reject their leadership in the upcoming election.
  • His film ‘Jana Nayagan’, co-starring Mamitha Baiju and Pooja Hegde, faces certification delays.

Tamil superstar Vijay has officially entered the political arena by filing his nomination. He addressed supporters, alleging a conspiracy surrounding his film’s release and a past stampede. Vijay positioned himself as a champion of the people against the current government.

Vijay Enters Politics, Files Nomination

Actor and TVK chief Vijay filed his nomination in Trichy on Thursday and addressed the crowd after that. He spoke about Jana Nayagan and Karur.

Conspiracy Allegations: ‘Jana Nayagan’ Delay

He also reiterated what he said during previous public gatherings, that he gave up a life of luxuries to stand with the people. “I have come here for you, even though I have a luxurious life. I am coming only to repay your gratitude and bear all the pain,” said Vijay, adding, “I will never lie or deceive you. Do you want (current CM MK) Stalin, who works against people, or Vijay, who works for them? That’s all this election is about.”

During his speech, Vijay also called the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) government an ‘evil force,’ asking the voters to ‘throw it’ out of power in the Tamil Nadu Assembly election. The actor is contesting elections for the first time via TVK. He will contest as a candidate in Perambur and Trichy East.

Vijay’s Promise: A Champion of the People

Also starring Mamitha Baiju, Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol, Jana Nayagan is touted to be an adaptation of Anil Ravipudi’s Balakrishna, Sreeleela and Kajal Aggarwal-starrer Bhagavanth Kesari (2023). The film was initially supposed to be certified UA 16+, the producers said in court, but was sent to the revising committee at the last minute. The CBFC told the court that it had received a complaint from a member of the examining committee that the film contained objectionable scenes.

Vijay’s entry into politics marks a significant shift. His allegations and promises resonate with supporters, but the impact on the Tamil Nadu elections remains to be seen. The fate of ‘Jana Nayagan’ also hangs in the balance.
