Bahubali producer Shobu Yarlagadda has fiercely shut down AI allegations regarding the stunning glimpse of ‘Varanasi’, the highly anticipated Rajamouli-Mahesh Babu venture. The visual spectacle, which captivated cinema lovers last year, recently faced social media claims of being AI-generated. Yarlagadda’s sharp response on X clarifies the authenticity, reassuring fans eager for this monumental collaboration.

Varanasi Glimpse: AI or Art?

Bahubali producer Shobu Yarlagadda has strongly rebutted AI claims surrounding the glimpse video of the highly anticipated film ‘Varanasi’, a collaboration between director S.S. Rajamouli and superstar Mahesh Babu. The glimpse, released last year, had become a sensation among cinema lovers worldwide. However, the magnificent visuals prompted some on social media to express doubts that it was created with Artificial Intelligence (AI). Responding sharply on the X platform, Shobu Yarlagadda addressed these allegations.

Regarding the claims of AI generation, Shobu called them “garbage… an insult to artists.” He emphasized the hard work involved, though he did not completely dismiss AI technology itself. He clarified that “AI can be a great tool for VFX artists for pre-visualization and to speed up work. But it shouldn’t be compared to the final output. You are combining two different things.”

Producer Defends Human Craft

Further dispelling the rumors, director S.S. Rajamouli himself clarified that each frame of the ‘Varanasi’ glimpse takes 20 hours to produce, effectively putting an end to the AI speculation. Shobu Yarlagadda’s comments have gone viral on social media, providing a definitive counter to the AI claims surrounding the ‘Varanasi’ film.

Looking Ahead

Shobu Yarlagadda and Rajamouli’s clarity firmly reaffirms the human effort in our cinema. This incident profoundly underscores that true South Indian filmmaking artistry is born of dedication, not algorithms. Our industry, a source of enduring pride, will continue delivering unparalleled cinematic experiences crafted by passionate hands.
