Megastar Chiranjeevi‘s discerning eye for script and direction is widely known across Tollywood, with many stars attesting to his creative input. However, a truly sensational revelation has now surfaced from the archives: the ‘Mega’ star secretly directed significant portions of his 1995 action film, ‘Big Boss’, during the peak of his illustrious career. This surprising news promises to rewrite a fascinating chapter of his cinematic journey!

Megastar’s Secret Directorial Stint

Megastar Chiranjeevi’s direction is anything but ordinary! While it’s well-known that Chiranjeevi has earned the affection of millions of fans and frequently offers suggestions for scripts and direction—a fact attested to by many, including Anil Ravipudi—a truly sensational revelation has emerged: Chiru himself directed a portion of a film during the peak of his career. This surprising news concerns his 1995 film, ‘Big Boss’.

According to actor Tanikella Bharani, Chiranjeevi directed an entire special portion of the movie when the original director, Vijaya Bapineedu, was unexpectedly unavailable. Everyone who witnessed it was astonished by his talent then. Bharani, who played a negative character in ‘Big Boss‘, recently recounted the incident in an interview. The shooting was taking place in Chennai, and during his introduction scene—a fight sequence where he had to tear Chiranjeevi’s Ayyappa mala (garland)—director Vijaya Bapineedu’s close friend suffered a heart attack. With Bapineedu needing to leave immediately, and with Chiranjeevi’s dates being extremely difficult to reschedule, the production faced a significant challenge. To avoid wasting artists’ time and the producer’s money, Chiranjeevi reportedly took over the directorial responsibilities for three days.

“In Chiranjeevi’s film ‘Big Boss’, I played a negative character,” Bharani explained. “Chiranjeevi himself directed that entire fight and all those scenes. I was shocked by his technical knowledge then. If you observe the film carefully, that particular portion stands out as special in the entire movie.”

Big Boss: Chiru’s Unexpected Direction

In ‘Big Boss’, Chiranjeevi’s style, hairstyle, and mass look greatly captivated the audience, and even today, the film’s music is trending. Although the movie impressed the mass audience with Chiru’s powerful character, it ultimately failed commercially. Nevertheless, the fact that an entire special portion, including crucial fight scenes, was shot under Chiranjeevi’s direction adds a unique layer to its legacy.

This news about Megastar’s uncredited directorial stint has now become a hot topic in Tollywood, further highlighting his multifaceted talent.

Looking Ahead

This unearthing of Megastar’s hidden genius undeniably reinforces his unparalleled vision. One can only imagine what other uncredited magic moments lie in the annals of Telugu cinema, waiting for their revelation. Such tales deepen the reverence for Chiranjeevi, truly the “Big Boss” of many talents.
