“Aaya Sher”: Chart-Topping Hit & Shyam’s Journey
Natural Star Nani’s upcoming film, ‘The Paradise,’ is already making waves, primarily due to its trending first single, ‘Aaya Sher.’ Composed by Rockstar Anirudh Ravichander and directed by Srikanth Odela under the SLV Cinemas banner with Sudhakar Cherukuri producing, the song is creating a worldwide sensation, topping global charts and garnering an enormous response. Prompted by this overwhelming success, lyricist Kasarla Shyam recently shared the fascinating story behind its creation. The film is slated for a worldwide release on August 21st.
Speaking about his journey and the effort behind ‘Aaya Sher,’ Kasarla Shyam recalled, “My first film was ‘Chantigadu,’ and I got my first break with the song ‘Neelapuri Gajulu.’ After that, I wrote for many films, but it was with the movie ‘Lie’ that I once again gained special recognition. Subsequently, I had a series of successful songs like ‘iSmart Shankar,’ ‘Ramuloo Ramulaa,’ and ‘DJ Tillu.’ Nani himself highly praised my work for him, saying my songs ‘gave me a kick that will last a lifetime.’ He remarked that I had given him unforgettable hits like ‘Dhoom Dhaam Dosthaana,’ ‘Chamkeela Angeelesi,’ and now ‘Aaya Sher’.”
Shyam elaborated on his experience working with director Srikanth Odela: “Working with Odela Srikanth was an amazing experience. He is very calm, but when he has to explain a situation, he does so with great emotion. When this song was being made, I went to the set and got the distinct feeling of a ‘Sammakka Sarakka’ jathara (festival) happening there. He is working harder for this film than for his first one; he knows nothing but cinema. Some scenes he narrated were shocking, making me wonder, ‘Does he possess so much fire?'”
Srikanth’s Vision: Crafting the Hero’s Anthem
Regarding the lyrical creation of ‘Aaya Sher,’ Shyam explained Srikanth’s directorial brilliance: “To write the ‘Aaya Sher’ song, Srikanth explained the situation very clearly. I kept Nani’s character, Jadal, in mind – a hero is never born from books; when difficulties arise, he emerges from among the people. This is the story of such a hero who rose from the masses, carrying deep emotion. That’s why I used phrases like ‘tattooed wound’ and ‘justice snatched.’ After this song was released, its impact on the film doubled. Commercially and market-wise, the scale has transformed—all thanks to director Srikanth’s vision. The emotions and action in this film will all be on the next level. I thought it would be great to have a special chorus to define the hero’s character in this film, and Srikanth loved that idea. Today, it makes me very happy when people talk about that very chorus on social media.”
The ‘Aaya Sher’ song is undoubtedly set to be a special highlight in Nani’s career, reflecting the tremendous effort put in by both lyricist Kasarla Shyam and director Srikanth Odela. Fans eagerly await the film’s release on August 21st.
Looking Ahead
“Aaya Sher” is undeniably a monumental highlight for Nani’s career, reflecting Kasarla Shyam’s brilliant lyrics and Srikanth Odela’s vision. With August 21st nearing, this powerful anthem ensures “The Paradise” will truly deliver, cementing Nani’s formidable presence in Telugu cinema. A sure-shot winner!
