Producing with Family: A Heartfelt Tribute
Niharika Konidela, who has ventured into production, recently expressed her emotions during the commencement of her film ‘Bhari’, starring her brother Varun Tej. The film’s inauguration was graced by Pawan Kalyan as the chief guest, prompting Niharika to share heartfelt comments about producing a film with family, remarking, “While making a film with my brother… Dad came to mind!”
Indeed, Niharika Konidela has rapidly established herself as a successful producer. She earned accolades and awards for her debut production, ‘Committee Kurrollu’, and is currently gearing up for the release of her second project, ‘Raakasa’, under her Pink Elephant Pictures banner, scheduled for April 3rd. Even before ‘Raakasa’ hits theatres, Niharika has already commenced her third venture. Titled ‘Bhari’, this film will feature her elder brother, Mega Prince Varun Tej, and will be directed by Yadu Vamsi, who previously helmed ‘Committee Kurrollu’. The puja ceremony for ‘Bhari’ was grandly held on Saturday, with Andhra Pradesh Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan attending as the chief guest. Pawan Kalyan clapped for the muhurat shot, while Mythri Movie Makers producer Naveen Yerneni switched on the camera. Director Merlapaka Gandhi and producer Rajiv Reddy handed over the script.
Speaking at the event, Niharika Konidela shared her emotional connection to the project: “My father used to make films with family members back then. He made films with his elder brother and younger brother. Now, I understand what that feeling is like, producing films with family members. Starting a movie with my brother Varun today feels very, very special to me. It brings me immense joy that our uncle, Pawan Kalyan, attended our movie’s inauguration. This time, Vamsi is set to narrate another wonderful story to the audience, presented as a village drama with a sports backdrop. I am delighted to be making a film again with the ‘Committee Kurrollu’ team.” We plan to release this film for Sankranti next year.
Niharika’s Rapid Production Rise: New Film ‘Bhari’
Director Yadu Vamsi elaborated on the film’s conception, stating, “After ‘Committee Kurrollu’, I pursued a story for a year, but it didn’t work out. In the interim, an idea for a volleyball-themed backdrop came to me. The moment I thought of volleyball, Varun Tej came to my mind. After developing part of the story, I went back to Niharika. I narrated the story to her and asked for Varun Tej. She suggested we approach Varun anna (elder brother) after preparing the complete story. So, we prepared the full story in three months and narrated it to him. He liked the story very much.” He added, “We have completed the pre-production work and are planning to finish the shooting quickly. We are aiming to release our film ‘Bhari’ for the upcoming Sankranti festival next year.”
Niharika’s endeavor to produce a film with her family members, much like her father, is noteworthy. It remains to be seen what kind of success ‘Bhari’ will bring to Varun Tej when it releases for Sankranti next year.
Looking Ahead
Niharika’s emotional investment, mirroring her father’s pioneering spirit, makes ‘Bhari’ a truly special venture. As Sankranti approaches, the industry watches keenly. Will this heartfelt family production bring Varun Tej a resounding success, adding another glorious chapter to the illustrious Konidela legacy?
