Raghav Chadha’s Ousting as AAP Deputy Leader
If there’s one thing Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Raghav Chadha is known for, it’s addressing various issues at the Rajya Sabha. In a move that surprised many, the AAP replaced him as deputy leader on Thursday, sending a letter to the parliament secretariat to reflect the change. In his first reaction since the ousting, Raghav posted a reel highlighting all the issues he addressed during his tenure, and his wife, actor Parineeti Chopra , stood in his support.
The video he posted was captioned with the evil eye emoji and shows him walking out of parliament at the end. Parineeti re-shared the video on her Instagram stories to show her support.
Chadha Defends His Parliamentary Record
Recently, when Raghav addressed paternity leave at the parliament, the actor shared the video, writing, “My dearest husband, You spoke today not just as an MP but as the dad, I see every single day. We have discussed this so many times. How our baby deserves both parents to be present – to the best of their ability. So when you spoke today, it wasn’t just policy. It was built from the way you parent our child the way you show up without being asked, the way you understand that PARENTING IS SHARED, not assigned.”
“Silenced, not defeated,” wrote Raghav on X, addressing the ousting in a video and questioning, “Whenever I get a chance to speak in the Parliament, I raise public issues. And perhaps I raise topics that are not usually raised in the Parliament. But is raising public issues a crime? Have I committed a crime? Have I made a mistake? Have I done something wrong?” He argued that these issues benefit the public and questioned how raising them could harm the party.
Parineeti Chopra’s Public Show of Support
For the unversed, Parineeti and Raghav got engaged in May 2023 at Kapurthala House in New Delhi and married in September the same year at The Leela Palace, Udaipur, Rajasthan. In October 2025, their son Neer was born. Parineeti last starred in the 2024 Imtiaz Ali film Amar Singh Chamkila with Diljit Dosanjh. She has the Netflix show Talaash: A Mother’s Search lined up.
Parineeti’s support highlights the personal dimension of Chadha’s political journey. The couple’s public display of solidarity amidst political changes underscores the intersection of their personal and professional lives.
