In anger, Balu smashes the liquor bottle he brought to drink. Afterward, he feels regret, thinking, “Oh, I wasted the alcohol unnecessarily.”
Meena’s brother Shiva hadn’t returned home even at night, causing his sister Sumathi and mother Parvathi to worry. He didn’t pick up the phone when they called, feeling scared. Just then, Shiva arrives home. When Sumathi asks, “What happened? Why are you late?”, Shiva replies arrogantly. Sumathi gets angry and scolds him, revealing that Shiva came home after drinking. Even though Sumathi and Parvathi try to convince him not to touch alcohol, Shiva doesn’t listen. “I’m not a drunkard like your son-in-law… I had one peg because Guna forced me at the party… Does that make me a drunkard?” he says whatever he pleases and then goes to sleep. When Sumathi suggests calling Meena, her mother stops her, saying it’s not the right time for a call.
Meena’s Wisdom, Balu’s Blunders
The next morning, Rajesh comes to Balu’s house. When Balu asks him to come in, Rajesh hesitates a lot, then admits his mistake in front of Balu and Meena. Rajesh feels that Balu incurred debt because of him. “If you don’t help a friend in need, how can that be friendship?” Balu says. “That’s not friendship… making a friend fall into debt is not friendship… true friendship is warning them not to get into debt,” Meena taunts from the side. But Balu shuts Meena up, asking, “Are you talking just because you got the chance?” However, Rajesh, agreeing that Meena was right, gives all the money received from the function’s felicitations and tries to leave. Meena stops Rajesh as he is leaving. “Brother… you didn’t pay the fees, saying why do girls need education? Why do they need tuition? And in this day and age, what’s the difference between girls and boys, brother? You said why does a girl need education if she’s just going to get married and leave, right? Manoj hears all of this and bangs his head, thinking that no matter where a topic starts, it always ends up with him. Afterward, Balu takes the money given by Rajesh and leaves, saying he will pay off the debt and return.
The scene cuts to Ravi going to his hotel. Upon arriving there, he finds another girl working as a chef in Ravi’s place. Ravi, worried that he lost his job, goes and questions his boss. Only then does he realize that the girl is the boss’s daughter. His boss tells him that he is putting the restaurant in his daughter’s hands. The girl then intimidates Ravi with her words. She introduces herself as Neethu and calls Ravi ‘baby’. Just then, Shruthi arrives and overhears these words. Shruthi thinks, “I’ll deal with you when we get home…” She enters, introduces herself as Ravi’s wife, and gives Ravi a warning before leaving.
