Ram Charan and Upasana Konidela have announced the names of their twins: Shivram and Anveera Devi. The names, revealed after an intimate naming ceremony, hold deep spiritual and personal significance, reflecting strength, devotion, courage and family lineage.
The Meaning Behind Shivram’s Name
Ram Charan and Upasana Konidela have shared that the names of their twins, Shivram and Anveera Devi, are not just identifiers but aspirations of love.
After welcoming their twins, a baby boy and a girl, on January 31, Ram Charan and Upasana Konidela have now introduced their little ones to the world with a special announcement. The couple recently hosted an intimate naamkaran (naming) ceremony at their home in Hyderabad, and they have revealed that their son has been named Shivram, while their daughter has been named Anveera Devi.
Opening up about the same, Ram said, “Naming them was a deeply personal and spiritual decision for both of us. Upasana and I discussed it extensively, but our parents were very much part of the journey. In our culture, elders bring wisdom and blessings, so their presence in that process meant a lot to us. Our son’s name, Shivram, reflects two eternal ideals – Lord Shiva and Lord Rama – strength with restraint, devotion with righteousness. It also carries forward my father’s birth name, Shiv Shankar Vara Prasad, so there’s lineage and gratitude woven into it. Our daughter’s name, Anveera Devi, represents boundless courage and divine feminine strength. ‘Veera’ signifies bravery, and ‘An’ expands it to something limitless. The ‘Devi’ is intentional – a reminder that strength and grace can co-exist. For us, these names are not just identifiers. They are aspirations of strength, love and courage.”
Anveera Devi: A Name of Courage
During the chat, Upasana also spoke about becoming a mom for the second time, saying motherhood feels calmer and more conscious now.
“The first time, everything is new – beautiful, but overwhelming. This time, I feel much more relaxed and grounded. I’ve learned to let go of a lot, and now I don’t panic over the small things anymore. Stability, routine, and unconditional love – that’s really all the little ones need right now. Managing twins is magical. I’m only a week into it, so I don’t want to speak too soon – but there’s an extraordinary sense of fulfillment watching all three of my children together… Ram has been incredibly hands-on, especially with Kaara,” she said.
Ram said, “Being blessed with three children fills me with gratitude. I’m thankful to all our fans, loved ones and well-wishers, who have stood by us and supported us through every moment.” Adding to this, Upasana added, “My father always believed that clarity of intention and faith go hand in hand. Today, I feel incredibly blessed to be a mother of three, exactly as we envisioned. Our hope is to raise children who are strong yet compassionate, aware that privilege carries responsibility – and that true legacy lies in giving back.”
Upasana on Embracing Motherhood Again
Recently, it was revealed that Ram and Upasana got an astrologer to pick delivery time for twins, and even sent an alchemist to pray at a temple before the delivery of the twins.
Ram married Upasana, the vice-chairman of Apollo Charity, in June 2012, following an engagement ceremony in December 2011. The couple had known each other for years and were friends before dating and getting married. In June 2023, the couple had their first baby, a daughter named Klin Kaara.
The names Shivram and Anveera Devi reflect the couple’s aspirations for their children. As Upasana embraces motherhood again, she conveys a sense of calm and groundedness, ready to navigate the journey ahead.
