Bollywood is reeling from a shocking incident: renowned director Rohit Shetty’s Mumbai residence was targeted by gunfire. This alarming development hints at deeper criminal networks, potentially linking to the Baba Siddiqui murder case, sparking nationwide alarm.

Bollywood Attack: Gang Claims Responsibility for Firing

A shocking incident has sent ripples through Bollywood: shots were fired at the residence of renowned director Rohit Shetty, causing a nationwide sensation. While five individuals have been arrested in connection with the case, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility, raising questions about the real masterminds behind the attack and their suspected links to those involved in the Baba Siddiqui murder case.

The firing incident occurred on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at approximately 12:45 AM, when unidentified individuals fired five rounds outside Rohit Shetty‘s residence (Shetty Tower) in Juhu, Mumbai. Rohit Shetty and his family were inside the house at the time. Fortunately, no one sustained injuries, although one bullet struck a gym mirror within the building, prompting a high alert in the area.

In a joint operation, the Mumbai Crime Branch and Pune Police apprehended five suspects in Pune. After being transferred to Mumbai and interrogated, four were officially arrested. The accused have been identified as Aman Anand Marote (27), Aditya Gyaneshwar Gayaki (19), Siddharth Deepak Yenpure (20), Samarth Shivsharan Pomaji (18), and Swapnil Bandu Sakat (23). They were produced in court and remanded to police custody until February 5.

Shortly after the shooting, a social media post attributed to “Shubham Lomkar and Arzoo Bishnoi” from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang surfaced, claiming responsibility. The post stated, “We have warned Rohit Shetty many times not to interfere in our affairs. This is just a trailer; if he doesn’t mend his ways, the next bullets will go straight to his heart.” Police suspect the arrested individuals have links to Shubham Lomkar, who is the main accused in the Baba Siddiqui murder case.

Beyond the Bullets: Unraveling Motives, Gang Connections

However, the lawyer for the accused refuted these allegations in court, arguing that his clients have no connection to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and were completely unaware of the shooting. He stated that the accused were arrested solely based on CCTV footage and would cooperate with the investigation.

It is reported that Rohit Shetty had not received any threat calls previously. Police are investigating whether the attack might be due to his upcoming projects or his acquisition of film rights for former Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria’s book. Heavy security has currently been deployed at Rohit Shetty’s residence.

The targeting of another prominent celebrity, following the incident involving Salman Khan, has caused significant unrest in Bollywood. The police have intensified their investigation, and it remains to be seen what further details will emerge in this sensational case.

Looking Ahead

With Bollywood now facing repeated underworld threats, this case is pivotal. Beyond individual safety, it’s about the writ of the state. Mumbai police’s resolute pursuit is crucial to restore confidence and send a clear message: organized crime cannot hold our cultural icons hostage.
