Raising Daughters: Courage, Not Fear

D/O Prasad Rao is a revenge mystery series that has become a sensation on ZEE5, compellingly exploring the profound bond between a father and daughter. Directed by Poluru Krishna and produced by South Indian Screens, this series features superb performances, particularly from Rajeev Kanakala, whose portrayal of a father’s anguish and frantic search for his missing daughter is deeply moving. Udaya Bhanu and Gayatri Bhargavi also deliver excellent and captivating performances. This must-watch series is creating quite a stir.

Daughter Missing: A Father’s Anguish! Not just in current society, but since ancient times, the birth of a girl child often brings an unknown fear to her father. He lives in the grip of that fear until he raises her, she grows up, and he entrusts her to a suitable man, all while appearing composed on the outside. There’s a saying that we must change with changing times. Accordingly, some parents are now starting to treat their children like friends. Especially for daughters, friendly parenting is very necessary. Many daughters, raised with the fear of “Oh no, what will mom say if I tell her this?” or “Dad might get angry,” are unable to express their difficulties and fears directly, and thus have suffered or are suffering silently within. It is against such a backdrop that the web series D/O Prasad Rao Kanabadutaledu (D/O Prasad Rao Missing) has emerged. Preaching that daughters should be raised with courage, not fear, and to be brave wherever they are, this series was recently released on ZEE5. The twist in this series will be an eye-opener for everyone. Director Poluru Krishna has vividly portrayed the very situations we see in today’s society. In this series produced by South Indian Screens, Rajeev Kanakala, Udaya Bhanu, Gayatri Bhargavi, and Gemini Suresh played key roles, while child artist Vasanthika brilliantly portrayed the character of Swathi, D/O Prasad Rao.

Swathi Vanishes: A Father’s Quest

The Story Unfolds… The disappearance of a young woman from a working women’s hostel in Madhapur creates a stir. Since a girl working for a media channel also resides in the same hostel, the incident leaks to the media. Consequently, the police take the case seriously. Rebecca Joseph (Udaya Bhanu) enters the scene for investigation. Meanwhile, Prasad Rao, whose daughter’s phone has been switched off since the previous night, travels by car from Nellore to the hostel in Hyderabad where his daughter was staying. Seeing the commotion there, he anxiously inquires about his daughter and is told that she is missing. He then collapses, recalling memories of his daughter.

Revenge Mystery: Mind-blowing Twists! Prasad Rao (Rajeev Kanakala), who had lovingly raised Swathi (Vasanthika) since her birth, stubbornly resists sending her to Hyderabad for a job. Swathi, unable to speak confidently with her father, somehow convinces him to let her take a software job with the help of her uncles. The father personally helps his daughter join the hostel and even takes her to the office. Seeing his daughter’s demeanor and workplace, he becomes emotional. He is shocked to learn that his daughter, who had known nothing but home, school, and relatives since birth, is now missing. Prasad Rao finds Swathi, whom even the police couldn’t locate. But by then, she is already dead. How did Swathi die, when the hostel CCTV footage shows no record of her leaving? How did Prasad Rao know her whereabouts? Who committed such a heinous act against Swathi? Why was Rebecca shocked upon seeing the post-mortem report? What happened to the real culprits after the case was closed? These questions form the rest of the series.

Twists, Revenge, and Life Lessons

No matter what role Rajeev Kanakala plays, it doesn’t seem like acting; he truly lives in that character. He brought the character of Prasad Rao, a responsible father, to life with remarkable depth. As the daughter, Vasanthika also did justice to the role of Swathi, portraying immense love for her father coupled with the struggle of never having a friendly relationship with him. Gayatri Bhargavi performed exceptionally well in the character of Bhavani, the hostel warden, a rare and challenging role for her given her usual portrayal of soft characters. Udaya Bhanu also perfectly fit into the role of the police officer solving the case. The background score, composed by Shreeram, is a significant asset to the series, skillfully heightening the emotional impact in many scenes. The director’s approach to the narrative, commendably weaving in elements of family, revenge, and twists, is noteworthy. The message delivered at the end of the series is extremely pertinent for every parent in contemporary society. If youngsters also watch this series, they will gain insight into the true nature of those around them, understanding who genuinely cares for them and why certain people interact kindly. Just as it is crucial for parents to provide children with basic necessities and education, it is equally vital to grant them the freedom to discuss anything with their parents first. Ultimately, D/O Prasadarao is a series that every father and every daughter must watch. This trending series continues to captivate audiences. Stay tuned for more such updates.
