The teaser for Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Ramayana’ has been released, drawing reactions from industry veterans. Nitish Bharadwaj, famed for playing Lord Krishna, shared his thoughts on Ranbir’s portrayal of Lord Rama. Dipika Chikhlia also lauded the teaser’s grandeur.

Ranbir Kapoor’s Ramayana Teaser Unveiled

The much-awaited teaser of Ranbir Kapoor ’s Ramayana was finally unveiled on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti 2026 at a grand launch in Mumbai. The teaser showed the first look of Ranbir as Lord Rama and has since received mixed reactions from the audience. In an interview with Times Now, actor and politician Nitish Bharadwaj , who played Lord Rama in B. R. Chopra’s Ramayan (2001), and is best known for portraying Lord Krishna in Mahabharat (1988-89), also reacted to the teaser.

Before Nitish, Dipika Chikhlia, who played the role of Sita in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan, had also reviewed the teaser and said, “I watched the teaser, and it’s very grand. Bahut rich lag raha hai. Unhone bahut achhe se banaya hai. So now I’m awaiting the film, and it’s looking very beautiful, there’s no doubt about it.”

Nitish Bharadwaj’s Reaction to Ranbir as Rama

Before the grand unveiling on Thursday, the teaser was screened to a select audience in Los Angeles earlier in the week. There, talking about working on Ramayana, Ranbir revealed he had initially hesitated to take up the role, thinking he was not ready for it. However, the birth of his daughter Raha changed his decision. “I remember when Namit offered me this part around 4 years ago, my instant reaction was ‘No’, I’m not fit enough, not good enough, and I won’t be able to do full justice,” the actor said.

Dipika Chikhlia Praises the Teaser’s Grandeur

Ramayana Part One is slated to release in October 2026, ahead of Diwali. The concluding second part will release next year.

The initial reactions to the ‘Ramayana’ teaser are largely positive, especially from veterans of previous Ramayana adaptations. With a star-studded cast and high production value, anticipation is building for its release in October 2026.
