Swift arrests after celebrity abuse complaint
Cybercrime Police have swiftly arrested six individuals following prominent actress Renudesai’s complaint about obscene comments posted against her on social media. The incident highlights the increasing prevalence of celebrity harassment online, where some individuals consistently target public figures with vulgar and abusive language. These comments often cause significant mental distress, prompting celebrities to seek police intervention.
Renudesai, widely known as Pawan Kalyan’s ex-wife, had herself been subjected to relentless online trolling with offensive language for some time. Consequently, she lodged a complaint with the Hyderabad Cybercrime Police, who swiftly launched an investigation. This led to the arrest of six individuals.
Following these arrests, Renudesai released a video expressing her gratitude to the police for their quick action. In the video, she stated, “I have filed cases against everyone who abused me on social media. Police have already arrested six people, and more arrests are underway.” She revealed that when confronted, the arrested individuals claimed they wanted to become famous by insulting a celebrity. Renudesai then issued a stern warning: “Don’t destroy your lives unnecessarily by using abusive language. If you are arrested, your family’s reputation will be ruined. If you are a software engineer, I will complain to your HR.”
Trolls seek fame, face consequences
The widespread trolling against Renudesai can be traced back a few months to comments she made regarding the stray dog controversy. She had stated, “Not all dogs are bad… if they are problematic, they should be handed over to the nearest authorities. Alternatively, if you inform our organization, we will take the dog in.” Following these remarks, some trolls posted extremely vile comments, suggesting that dogs should bite Renudesai and her children, particularly their private parts, to make them understand, and continued to use even more despicable, atrocious, and abusive language. Enraged by this, she approached the Cybercrime Police in Gachibowli, Hyderabad, leading to the intervention and subsequent arrests.
By taking strict action against those who trolled Renudesai, the Cybercrime Police have sent a clear warning to others. They emphasized their commitment to dealing firmly with anyone who behaves indecently on social media.
Looking Ahead
By taking strict action against those who trolled Renudesai, Cybercrime Police have sent an unequivocal warning: online anonymity offers no refuge for indecent behaviour. This swift response reinforces their commitment to a safer digital environment, signaling a future where such harassment will be met with decisive justice across our region.
